I attended a recent gathering of Carefree Boat club members for an afternoon of fun, delicious food and painting.  This past Saturday I lead an on location Paint the First Stroke event which was held at the LeFroy Marina for Carefree Boat Club members of Lake Simcoe.

Several people were able to join in the process of this painting throughout the afternoon.  Steve had taken an incredible photo of a sunrise over Cooks Bay which we used as reference.

The painting has been finalized.  This is the first time I’ve instructed a group in this type of interactive project which 14 different people were painting it.  The experience brought out lots of creative energy and I was thrilled to see new painters and those with experience return to the easel a few times to add more of their personal touch while keeping the end goal in mind.

Simply gorgeous!
